Ho, Mar. 20, GNA – Mr Daniel Kwaku Mensah, the Second Vice President of National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), has expressed his displeasure on the unilateral decision on vetting for the position of the General Secretary of the Association.
He said the decision solely taken by the National President of the Association for the vetting slated for March 21, 2025 contravened Article 61 of the Association’s constitution.
Mr Mensah in a communique copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the decision was also not brought to the knowledge and in consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC) of NALAG.
He said the Article 61 mandated that such processes be conducted with the full participation and endorsement of the NEC to ensure transparency, fairness and adherence to due process.
Mr Mensah said he was calling on the National President to immediately halt the “individualistic action” and adhere to the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and respect for the Association’s established legal framework.
“The credibility and integrity of NALAG must be preserved through adherence to our constitutional processes.”
Mr Mensah urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and committed to upholding the democratic principles that govern our esteemed Association.
