Month of Ramdan: Muslims to renew commitment to Allah, COMOG

By Albert Allotey

Accra, March 6, GNA – The Coalition of Muslim Organisations, Ghana (COMOG), has urged Muslims to use the month of Ramadan to renew their commitment to Allah.

It said, “In this blessed month, let us reflect on our relationship with the Almighty seeking forgiveness, guidance, and mercy.

“Let us use this sacred period to strengthen our bond with our community and reinvigorate our role in national development.”

This was in a statement signed by Hajj Abdel-Manan Abdel-Rahman, President, COMOG, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.

It said, “Let us also nurture our connection with our community, fostering love, compassion and unity. May our mosques, homes, and communities become beacons of hope, peace and understanding.”

It urged the Muslims that as they strive for spiritual growth and contentment, they should also recognise their responsibility to contribute positively to the nation’s development.

“May our fasting, prayers and charitable deeds inspire us to be responsible citizens, working together to build a brighter future for all. Let us use this opportunity to promote peace, tolerance and understanding and to work towards creating a more just and equitable society,” the statement said.

The COMOG prayed for the new government and invoke Allah’s divine guidance and wisdom as they lead the country, stating, “May Allah grant the members of the government the strength and vision to address our challenges and unlock potentials.

It stressed, “May they (government members) prioritize the welfare and well-being of all citizens and work tirelessly to create opportunities for growth and development for prosperity.”

The statement reminded Muslims that as they embark on the blessed journey, they should remember the values of Ramadan: compassion, generosity, and selflessness.

“May these values guide us in our personal and collective enterprises, bringing positive change and prosperity to our nation. Let us strive to be better version of ourselves, and make a positive impact on those around us,” it said.

“May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, charitable deeds and grant us the strength and resilience to overcome our challenges. May He bring us closer to Him, and may He guide us on the path of righteousness.

“Wishing you a blessed and transformative Ramadan season! Wa Alaikum Assalam…” the statement concluded.
