Goaso (A/R), March 4, GNA-Madam Charity Gardner, the Ahafo Regional Minister, has called on investors to take advantage of the numerous opportunities and invest in the Region for accelerated growth.
She expressed government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment to ensure private businesses thrived, while creating jobs for the youth.
She made the call when Nana Korankye l, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of D.K Korankye Group of Companies, dealers in building materials, opened a new branch at Goaso in the Ahafo Region.
Madam Gardner noted that the government was working on improving on the country’s framework to remove any bottlenecks and give opportunity to private companies to grow and expand.
She said: “Our region is blessed with numerous opportunities and natural resources such as gold, timber, cocoa, foodstuffs among others, so I encourage natives and others to come and invest here to grow our region.”
She, thus, hailed Nana Korankye I for expanding his business to the Region and called on others to emulate his efforts and open more businesses in the region.
Nana Korankye I thanked the Regional Minister for the recognition and said the move formed part of their strategic agenda to get closer to individuals and businesses in Goaso, while providing better services to customers within the Ahafo Region.
He explained that the decision to establish the branch was underpinned by the desire to offer convenient one-stop-shop to meet the varied needs of customers within the Ahafo Region.
The CEO, who doubles as the Sompahene of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, expressed confidence that the new branch would also save the people from travelling long distances to purchase home decor and sanitary wares from other shops outside the Region.
He, however, urged the government to create an enabling environment for the private sector and small businesses to thrive by removing barriers that resulted in regular hikes in the prices of goods and services.
As part of the programme, Nana Korankye I donated assorted items such as five bags of sugar, 20 pieces of mats, 15 bottles of drinking water, 10 cartons of milk and milo among others to the Muslim community in the area to aid their fasting and prayer season.
Six barricades and one desktop computer were also given to the Goaso Police Command to support their day-to-day activities.
