Accra, March 25, GNA- LemFi, a London-based financial technology platform, has set an initiative to transform how immigrants in the United Kingdom, North America, and Europe access financial services.
The initiative called the LemFi Student Grant will provide financial assistance to students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate studies within recognised education institutions in the United Kingdom.
A statement issued in Accra said hundreds of people move to the United Kingdom annually, seeking advancement in academic qualifications to help them achieve their dreams.
It said for some international students, financial constraints and challenges arise during their studies, posing significant risks, allowing them to continue or complete their study programmes.
“Starting with a £50,000 fund, which will only be available to a maximum of 50 eligible students divided equally between them,” it said.
The platform expressed the hope to demonstrate its commitment to supporting immigrant communities.
Mr Toyyib Adelodun, LemFi’s Growth Manager and the Coordinator of the LemFi Grant, said, “Education is a proven tool for driving social and economic change, especially in immigrant communities. By supporting their pursuits, we make a valuable investment in the future of the next generation.”
He said, “With this initiative, we hope to address financial challenges students face, enabling them to focus on their studies and unlock their full potential.”
