Kpeve (V/R), March 27, GNA – Kpeve Model Junior high School (JHS) won the South Dayi National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Constitution quiz held at Kpeve in the Volta Region.

The school secured 68 points to beat Kpeve E.P JHS, which garnered 66 points.

The quiz competition was part of the Commission’s nationwide activity to commemorate Ghana’s 68th Independence Day anniversary.

Speaking at the programme, Mr. Mathias Senam Segbefia, the South Dayi District Director of NCCE, stated that the quiz was an important strategy and tool for creating an awareness of the main values of democratic governance, instilling the spirit of patriotism, and enhancing citizens’ participation in governance.

Mr. Segbefia added that the overall objective was to promote the learning of the contents of the 1992 Constitution in an entertaining way among students at the basic levels.

Mr. Prosper Yevu, the South Dayi District Director of Education, advised the students to study hard to pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination with ease.

This, he said, would enable them to progress through their academic ladder to become responsible adults for themselves and for Mother Ghana.

The contestants took home a copy of the 1992 Constitution and medals, with the winning school taking a trophy.

The event was co-sponsored by NCCE and Weto Rural Bank PLC.
