Accra, March 20, GNA- SparkLife International has recognised and honoured 10 remarkable women for their invaluable contributions to their families, communities, and professions as part of the International Women’s Day (IWD) in the Oti Region.
The awardees are Adagbe Florence, a 64-year dedicated farmer, Madam Rebecca Manu, a 43-year hairdresser, Madam Elizabeth Aseiduwaa, a 43-year cleaner at GCB Bank and Madam Grace Kekpare, an Educator.
The rest are Miss Teye Abigail, an 18-year fashion designer, Ms Francisca Tsikpa, a fashion designer, Madam Etornam, a teacher, Madam Esther Hammond, the Acting Regional Coordinator for Gender and Children in the Oti Region, Nana Ama, an Administrator and Madam Cynthia Kpodo, a mathematics teacher.
The event on the theme: “Appreciating the Multitask Qualities of All Women” highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering young women through its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme aimed to combat human trafficking and exploitation.
Mr Destiny Selormey, the Founder of SparkLife International, handed a special recognition package to the ten women, acknowledging their resilience, dedication, and hard work.
He said as part of its TVET initiative, the organization donated two sewing machines to two adolescent females, Teye and Tsikpa, to support their careers in fashion design.
He said SparkLife International remained dedicated to empowering women and young girls through skills training, education, and recognition of their efforts in society.
He said the donation of sewing machines marked yet another step in the fight against human trafficking and exploitation, as economic empowerment was a vital tool for women’s independence and protection.
“Moving forward, SparkLife International is committed to expanding its reach, supporting more women, and ensuring that every woman, regardless of her background, is celebrated and empowered,” he added.
Ms Tsikpa expressed gratitude for the support and commended the leadership for their continuous support to women in the community.
Additionally, a nurse from Dambai Health Center was also honoured for her dedication to healthcare services in the region.
