Accra, March 23, GNA – The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has received new disinfectant variants to support its measures aimed at ensuring clean and safe environment.
The antiviral products were donated by EV Beauty Ghana, dealers in beauty products and detergents, as part of their corporate social responsibility.
Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse, Chief Executive Officer, Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) received the items on behalf of the Authority at a brief ceremony in Accra.
She said the EPA would use the product and review its performance as part of the Authority’s regulatory mandate.
Prof. Klutse thanked EV Beauty Ghana for its decision to prioritise environmental protection in the design of its products and supporting the work of the Authority.

Ms Ama Vera, proprietor of EV Beauty Ghana, said the disinfectants were produced with environmentally-friendly substances and they ensure efficiency without endangering the environment.
She said the company was concerned about environmental sustainability, hence its decision to donate to the EPA to support efforts by the Authority to protect the environment against dangerous substances.
Ms Vera urged the public to read the labels on disinfectants before making a purchase.
“Before you buy a disinfectant, you must know the function, and if you are using for the home for instance, you must ensure that it does not contain chemicals that could expose the children and the family to danger,” she said.
Dr Daniel Augustus Lartey Jnr of the Great Consolidated Popular Party, who led the team to the presentation, rallied political parties to support the development of the country and help build a prosperous nation irrespective of the party in power.
He said, ‘domestication’ remained the best policy for Ghana, and called for import substitution through a strong local production campaign, and consumption of locally-made products to support the growth of the economy.
