Accra, March.25, GNA – Captain One Golf Society, as part of nurturing young talents in the country has partnered the Takoradi Sports Club to run its Golf Society’s Kids’ project in Takoradi.
The Project, which is focused on unearthing young talents will have beneficiaries from the Egyam Children’s Home and other kids from the communities who would be trained by resident professional golfers.
In a statement read on his behalf, Mr. Pius Ayeh Appiah, President of the Captain One Golf Society expressed excitement over the newly launched project, which he described was the beginning of something great.
“Captain One always wanted to bring golf to everyone, especially children so they would capture the interest from the start and grow to become professionals.”
He further urged the kids to have the sport at heart and demystify the idea that golf belonged to the elite in society.
Mr Appiah hinted that Captain One Golf society would continue to put in more effort to give hope to talented but needy golfers especially.
He appealed to corporate bodies, civil society organisations and individuals to support the project.
Mr Solomon Harvey, Competition Secretary of Captain One Golf Society recommended that the kids put in their all to be better of the sport.
‘’As you know, golf trains you to be discipline and punctual. We also get health benefits when we play golf,” he stressed.
