Camfed Ghana Association holds sensitisation on women’s empowerment at Yong Dakpemyili

Tamale, March 15, GNA – Camfed Ghana Association (CAMA) has held a community sensitisation on women’s empowerment and girls education at Yong Dakpemyili, a suburb of Tamale. 

It formed part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration. 

Mr Inusah Iddrisu, Principal Investigator, Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, speaking during the event, urged women to embrace vital roles to enhance community development. 

He appealed to community members to avoid any form of gender stereotyping, especially against women and girls and urged traditional and religious leaders to support girl-child education to improve their welfare. 

Mr Sumaila Alhassan, Chairperson of Parents Support Group, encouraged parents to avoid overburdening their girl children with household chores when they returned from school. 

Miss Ernestina Brenya, Chairperson of CAMFED Association, Tamale, highlighted CAMA’s role in promoting women’s development and girls education. 

She commended women for their contributions to community development and encouraged them to continue being the supportive system in promoting girls education.
