Battor (V/R), March 21, GNA – The Battor Methodist J.H.S has emerged as the winner of a Constitution Quiz competition organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the North Tongu District, to commemorate the 68th Independence Day celebration.
The quiz, held at the Methodist Church Ghana (Battor), brought together four schools: Battor Methodist J.H.S, Battor R.C J.H. S, Battor D.A J.H. S, and Manya Methodist D.A J.H.S.
The competition was keenly contested, with participants demonstrating a strong grasp of the Constitution.
The quiz competition, moderated by Madam Grace Akabutu, a registrar at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice at Battor was based on a game board fashioned by the NCCE in the form of a Ludo which aimed at aiding the learning of the Constitution through play.

Mr. Daniel Gkikpo, NCCE Director in North Tongu, emphasized the importance of Civic Education Clubs (CECs) in schools. He noted that these clubs serve as avenues for school children to learn about the Constitution, civic rights, and responsibilities.
Mr. Gkikpo also highlighted the theme of NCCE for 2025, “Ghana’s future, our collective responsibility,” hence stressing the need for collective effort in shaping Ghana’s future.
He lauded the efforts of various participating schools, tutors, and parents for bolstering quality education in the district.
“The event provided a valuable platform for students to engage with the Constitution in a fun and interactive way, while also fostering a sense of patriotism and civic responsibility,” he told the Ghana News Agency.
Mr Glikpo pledged the NCCE’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all students are acquainted with the provisions of the country’s 1992 constitution.
At the end of the competition, Battor Methodist J.H.S emerged as the winner, followed by Battor R.C J.H. S, Battor D.A J.H. S, and Manya Methodist D.A J.H.S.
The winning school received a trophy and certificates, while participants from all schools received certificates of participation.
The NCCE North Tongu District has also pledged to continue promoting civic education and awareness among school children, as part of its mandate to promote democracy, good governance, and civic responsibility.
