Accra, March 26, GNA — The police have arrested three suspects allegedly linked to the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects – Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as Kwame Charles or Miami; Philip Foujour, 29; and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42 – were apprehended on March 21, 2025, at Pankrono and Atimatim.
Efforts are ongoing to locate a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or “Baba Macho,” who is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region, or the Greater Accra Region.
A statement signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said the suspects were in custody and would soon be arraigned.
It said the first incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Krofrom around noon, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, was murdered, and a sum of money stolen.
The second happened on the night of Monday, March 10, 2025, when the victim, Gideon Owusu Sarpong, alias “Junior,” was robbed and killed at his residence at Kwadaso.
The Police Command appealed to the public to assist in the search for Martin Amoah.
It said anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the police via the toll-free numbers 191 and 112 or 18555 (MTN and Telecel).
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and urged the public to remain vigilant in bringing all suspects to justice.
