Apostle JFK Mensah appeals to pastors to pursue evangelism

Accra, March 18, GNA – Apostle Joseph Felix Kwasi Mensah, the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has appealed to pastors to do the work of an Evangelist.

He reiterated that evangelism was the heartbeat of God, hence pastors must equip their Church members to pursue evangelism.

He said most Churches spend money paying the organist in the local congregation, but no one was being paid for evangelism.

Speaking at the 34th Pre-Mission Fast of the GCCI Ghana at Adenta near Accra, Apostle Mensah noted that most pastors focused on their local church projects at the expense of evangelism, which was God’s heartbeat.

He said, however, in the Bible, Timothy was a pastor, but the Apostle Paul urged him to do the work of an Evangelist.

Quoting the Bible, Apostle Mensah said: “But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.”

He urged Pastors to have compassion for the lost souls to pray for their salvation.

He noted that Jesus before sending out people to the mission field gave them training to empower them to fulfill the task of soul winning and disciple making.

He said as part of the evangelism training pastors must train the Church members how to lead others to Christ.

He said underscored the need for new souls to be taught the four experiences in Christianity – born again, water baptism, Holy Spirit baptism and deliverance from demons and curses.

Apostle Mensah said God doesn’t want anyone to perish, but that all may come to repentance.
