Manso Nkwanta (Ash), March 18, GNA – As Ghana marks 68 years of self-governance, the Amansie West District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has organised a quiz to test the knowledge of Civic Education Clubs (CECs) on the 1992 Constitution.

Members of CECs from four basic schools at Manso Nkwanta participated in the keenly contested competition.

The participating schools were Manso Nkwanta DA JHS, Model D/A JHS, Manso Nkwanta Methodist JHS, and St. Francis Xavier R/C JHS.

The exercise, which also sought to deepen their understanding of the Constitution, formed part of activities of the Commission to commemorate Ghana’s Independence celebrations.

Questions for the contestants were drawn from four thematic areas including the history of Ghana’s independence, citizenship, Arms of Government, and national symbols.

These are key areas where officials of the Commission in the district have been engaging members of CECs in the respective schools.

After a grueling encounter, St. Francis Xavier R/C JHS emerged winners with 34 points, closely followed by Manso Nkwanta Methodist JHS in second place with 31 points, while Manso Nkwanta DA JHS came third with 30 points.

Each contestant was awarded a certificate of participation and a medal with each school receiving a citation.

Mr Aziz Adjei Laryea, the District Director of NCCE, congratulated the winners and all participants for putting up spirited performances and demonstrating impressive knowledge of the Constitution.

He was confident that they would uphold the principles of the Constitution and discharge their civic responsibilities for others to emulate.
