Akona Royal Family Appeals for Intervention as Community Suffers

Moree (C/R), March 14, GNA- Akona Royal Family of Moree in the Abura- Asebu-Kwamankese District of the central is seeking urgent intervention to resolve the long-standing chieftaincy dispute in the area.

The dispute has also led to divisions within the community, with some residents supporting different factions.

Ebusuapanyin Nana Kofi Adanse who made the appeal at a press conference at Moree, called on the Central Regional House of Chiefs, National House of Chiefs, Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and National Peace Council to help bring an end to the dispute.

According to Nana Adanse, the chieftaincy dispute has led to a significant decline in development in Moree, and it was essential that the issue was amicably resolved.

He is also seeking the support of the Omanhen of Asebu Traditional Area, Okatakyi Amenfi VII, and Central Region Council of State Member, Mr Hakim Addei.

The Akona Royal Family is hopeful that with the intervention of the relevant authorities, the dispute could be resolved to bring peace and stability to Moree, for the Town to attract investments, grow and flourish once again.

Residents of Moree have expressed concern about the impact of the chieftaincy dispute on their community, citing a lack of growth and development.
