Kiev, Feb 13, (dpa/GNA) – US President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said they spoke by phone about efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky, writing on X, called the conversation “meaningful” and said they discussed “opportunities to achieve peace,” as well as Trump’s earlier telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“No one wants peace more than Ukraine. Together with the US, we are charting our next steps to stop Russian aggression, and ensure a lasting, reliable peace. As President Trump said, let’s get it done.”
Trump, writing on his Truth Social platform, said the talk went “very well” and that Zelensky “wants to make peace.”
Trump noted that his vice president and secretary of state, will meet Zelensky at the Munich Security Conference on Friday. “I am hopeful that the results of that meeting will be positive,” he wrote.
