Tema, Feb. 24, GNA – Master Melvin Mawuli Papanii Agboada, a 14-year-old level 100 Mathematical Science student at the University of Ghana, has appealed to well-wishers and organisations to support him in his education.

Master Agboada told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that even though his parents were currently footing his educational bills, as civil servants, they might not be able to fully bear the cost of achieving his dream of becoming a robotic engineer.

He stated that his checks revealed that he would need to further his education outside Ghana to be able to fully develop his career after the university education, which required a lot of funds and materials for practical.

According to him, he intends to use the knowledge he would acquire from the training to help bring out innovative solutions to many of Ghana’s peculiar issues, especially in the health sector.

“Mathematical science can be used to solve worldwide problems. As a robotics engineer, I will help solve problems in Ghana, especially in the health sector; a lot of machines are needed to guide patients. I am ready to invent novel things, such as artificial kidneys, to support people with kidney-related issues,” he stated.

Master Agboada made the headlines after gaining admission to the University of Ghana to read mathematics science at age 14, after passing the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

His basic schooling saw him being jumped several times after showing extraordinary academic prowess.
