By Linda Naa Deide Aryeetey

Accra, Feb. 28, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama says his administration will work with the National Health Insurance Authority to revive the ‘Onuador’ mobile healthcare vans.

In 2015, the previous Mahama led-administration implemented a National Medical Outreach Services, dubbed: “Onuador” as a means of bringing healthcare to the doorsteps of Ghanaians.

The vans, when revived will provide Outpatient Department, ophthalmology, dental, Ear Nose and Throat, and cancer screening care in remote and vulnerable communities.

President Mahama said an earlier attempt to provide mobile healthcare facilities was abandoned after the change of government in 2017.

Presenting his first State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Thursday, President Mahama said the vans were deployed into remote communities to provide healthcare to bridge the equity gaps in service delivery.
