Dambai (O/R), Feb 28, GNA – Mr. Nelson Kofi Djabab, the member of parliament (MP) for Krachi East constituency of the Oti Region, in partnership of Fountain of Comfort Foundation (FOC), a non-profit organization (NGO) based in Accra, has supported five selected Basic schools in his area with some teaching and learning materials.
The items include, 2,400 past questions and answers covering all subjects except languages, 1,500 exercise books, 600 pens, 1,000 pencils, 2000 erasers, 200 sharpeners, storybooks to promote reading habits and over 300 pre-school learning materials, which were distributed among the students.
The aim of donations was to improve students’ capability in reading and past their final exams this year.
Presented the items on behalf of the MP, Mr Peter Nlepa noted that the learning materials would eventually result in higher students’ performance during the final year exams, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
“My main aims are to see a boost in education that will result in higher performance of students after their final BECE exams,” Mr Djabab added.
“Final year students must learn hard to make their teachers and parents proud,” he said.

The MP challenged students, especially those in the final year, to stick to their books during these difficult times.
Mr. Prosper Kwabena Soku, Executive secretary to Fountain of Comfort Foundation, has expressed his commitment to improving education in the Oti Region, adding that their goal was to support educational development in the area.
Mr Soku said the initiative was part of the foundation’s efforts to give back to the communities and make a positive impact on the lives of students across the country.
The foundation’s commitment to education is a welcome development, especially in rural areas where access to quality educational resources can be limited.
Mr. Newton Bordor, Headteacher of DACE Demonstration Basic school, expressed gratitude to the member of parliament and the foundation for bold initiatives.
He said the initiative, spearheaded by the MP, would have a positive impact on both teachers and students in promoting academic excellence.
“I appreciate your kindness and generosity, your support means a lot to us, and we are grateful for your commitment to improving education in our community,” Mr Bordor added.
