Anloga, (V/R), Feb 24, GNA – Mr Kenneth Kpedor, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO), has reiterated the Association’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance in managing school-related projects.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Sunday during the thanksgiving ceremony to climax the 72nd Anniversary by the School, Mr Kpedor highly spoke about the Association’s commitment to student welfare.

He highlighted the PTA’s structured approach to project selection and financial oversight, stressing that all decisions are made collectively, with parental involvement in general meetings.

Mr Kpedor used the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Association over the years which are; PTA extended Classes to provide additional academic support sessions to improve student performance, fumigation of the entire campus including student dormitories, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for students, and staff free from harmful insects.

Again, he said renovation of House Five Girls’ Hostel: Improving residential security conditions for students, Conversion of a House Six Girls’ Dormitory into a residential facility for the House Mistress to enhance proper student supervision, Donation of 67 three-in-One student beds: Addressing accommodation needs within the school.

He said the PTA organised seminars for staff and Students: to promote transformational leadership mentoring for both staff and learners.

Mr Kpedor assured parents that these projects were executed with strict financial discipline and governance principles.

He stressed the importance of investing in these seminars over the period. “Investing in student leadership and character development is never a wasteful expenditure. Unlike infrastructural projects that provide physical facilities, these programs build intangible but equally crucial assets strong character, discipline, and leadership abilities,”

“The long-term benefits far outweigh the cost, as these programs ensure that students leave KETASCO not just with certificates, but with values that will place them higher in society with the mindset and skills to succeed in life,” Mr Kpedor said.

In response to the outstanding performance of his administration, the Chair touted his administration above that of other institutions.

He clarified that his leadership is solely responsible for the actions and decisions of KETASCO’s PTA and not those of other institutions.

“As the Chairman of the KETASCO PTA, I can only be responsible for its actions, decisions, and governance not every PTA in Ghana. For us, we focus all our discussions on issues related to our school, where we can provide facts, accountability, and transparency,” Mr. Kpedor stated.

To reinforce this commitment, he assured parents that the Ketasco PTA’s financial accounts are meticulously audited and will be formally presented to the General Assembly at the end of the administration’s tenure next year.

The PTA Chair urged parents and stakeholders to remain focused on supporting the school by providing constructive criticism. He encouraged collective action and collaboration, stating that the primary objective of the PTA is to create the best possible learning environment for students.

As Keta Senior High Technical School continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence, the PTA remains committed to fostering ethical leadership, financial accountability, and initiatives that contribute to the school’s development.
