Ketaco Old Students Association to mark 72nd homecoming anniversary with lectures

Keta (VR), Feb 19, GNA-The Old Students Association of Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) in the Volta region is set to celebrate its 72nd homecoming anniversary with a series of lectures and events. 

The anniversary, which was scheduled to take place from Friday, February 21 to Sunday 23, was aimed at inspiring future generations with past experiences and achievements. 

Mr. Anthony Segbefia, a member of the Local Organising Committee and a teacher at KETASCO, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that the theme of the anniversary was “Bridging the Generational Gap: Harnessing the Past and Inspiring the Future.” 

He said that the theme would reflect on the Union’s commitment to connecting with younger generations and sharing the lessons and experiences of the past. 

“Homecoming anniversary is a significant event for KETASCO’s old student’s association which provides an opportunity for alumni to reunite, reminisce about their time at the school, and give back to their alma mater,” he said. 

He said the anniversary celebration was also expected to attract current students, teachers, and other stakeholders who will benefit from the lectures and discussions. 

Mr Segbefia explained that the lectures would feature prominent alumni and experts in various fields, who will share their experiences and insights on topics relevant to the theme and provide a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and inspiration, and were expected to be a highlight of the anniversary celebrations. 

“The 72nd homecoming anniversary is a milestone event for KETASCO’s old student’s union, and the union is pulling out all the stops to make it a memorable occasion and the event is expected to attract a large turnout of alumni, current students, and other stakeholders, and general public, and would provide a unique opportunity for networking, reunion, and among others.” 

Other information GNA gathered indicated that other activities, including quiz competition, Borbor night jam, live band music with lipstick Queens, health screening, among others would be part of this year’s anniversary package.  

Professor John Gatsi, Dean of Business School, University of Cape Coast and Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, ‘Dufia’ of Anyako-Konu and Paramount Chief of Amugo-Vego Traditional area, who were both past students, are expected to be guest of honour and chairman of the event respectively.  

KETASCO has a proud tradition of academic excellence and has produced many distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions in various fields with the old students’ union been committed to preserving the school’s legacy and promoting its values of excellence, integrity, and service. 

The homecoming anniversary was expected to raise funds for the development of the school’s infrastructure and facilities to foster continuity of supporting the school’s development efforts. 

Some other old students GNA engaged expressed excitement about the upcoming anniversary celebrations and encouraged all alumni, current students, and stakeholders to participate in the anniversary, which would provide a unique opportunity for networking, reunion, and celebration, and will help to strengthen the bond between KETASCO’s old students and the school. 

This year’s 72nd homecoming anniversary is being powered by the 1975, 1985, 1995-, 2000-, 2005-, and 2015-year groups.
