Holy Child SHS to mark 79th Speech and Prize-Giving Day on March 8

Accra, Feb 19, GNA – The Holy Child Senior High School (SHS) in Cape Coast, will mark its 79th Speech and Prize-Giving day on March 8, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the International Women’s day.

The event that will be attended by the Board of Governors, Management, Staff, students and members of the Holy Child Past Students Association (HOPSA) as well as all stakeholders would be a celebration of excellence, tradition, and sustainability.

This year’s event is being hosted by the HOPSA 2000 group (The Millennium) and would highlight academic achievements, leadership, and the future of Holy Child School, a release issued by the school and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra has announced.

It said the anniversary will be held on the theme: “Preserving Our Educational Infrastructure as a Sustainable Legacy for Future Generations.”

A major activity of the milestone celebration would be the launching of the Millennium Maintenance Fund (MMF) by the HOPSA 2000 group.

The MMF is a visionary initiative designed to preserve and enhance the school’s infrastructure in perpetuity.

“The MMF is structured to ensure that Holy Child School’s facilities remain well-maintained not just for today but for generations to come, reinforcing the institution’s long-standing commitment to excellence.”

The release called for support and contribution towards the funds, urging that donations could be made via:

“Your support will help sustain the school’s infrastructure, ensuring that investments made by past and present alumni remain protected for future generations,” the release stated.

It also called on all stakeholders to join in strengthening “Our Legacy.

“We encourage all stakeholders, including the Board of Governors, School Management and Staff, HOPSA, Parents, and Students, to participate in this significant event as we honour Holy Child School’s achievements and reinforce our shared commitment to excellence.”

Founded in 1946, Holy Child School, Cape Coast, remains a beacon of academic excellence and character formation, shaping generations of young women into transformative leaders.

As HOPSA 2000 marks its 25th anniversary since graduating, the milestone celebration reinforces the past students’ unwavering commitment to sustaining the school’s legacy in perpetuity.
