Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Team to participate in 2025 ITF World Team Cup qualifiers

Accra, Feb. 18th, GNA – The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Federation (GWTF), is set to participate in the 2025 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Team Cup Africa qualifiers in Rabat, Morocco.

The five-day event scheduled for February 18-23, 2025, would also serve as a qualification event for the LA28 Paralympic Games.

The team, currently in Rabat, had its first training session at the Wifaq Tennis Club.

Ghana’s contingent was led by Kwabena Afriyie-Siaw an official representing the National Coordination of GWT with Bernard Yawson and Daniel Laryea as athletes.

In a press release signed by Dr. Henry Larbi, National Coordinator of GWTF copied to GNA said, “the PNB Paribas World Team Cup is one of the International Tennis Federation Wheelchair Tennis flagship tournaments which is similar to the ITF Davies Cup for Able Tennis.”

He said, “Ghana Tennis Federation being a national association affiliated to the ITF, is duly represented in the 2025 ITF PNB Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualification.”
