Former Minister urges Regional Minister to work devoid of partisan lines

Goaso, (Ahafo), Feb. 21, GNA – Madam Charity Gardener, the Ahafo Regional Minister has been urged to endeavour to cooperate and work with all employees of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), devoid of partisan lines, and considerations.

Mr George Yaw Boakye, the former Ahafo Regional Minister who gave the advice stressed that the new regional minister ought to work beyond political lines to be able to build and strengthen unity among the workers of the Council and thereby facilitate the holistic development of the region.

He was speaking in an interview with the media at Goaso, after Madam Gardener had raised concerns about the poor condition of the newly constructed RCC office complex.

During an inspection visit as part of her four-day working tour in the region, Mad Gardener said she was unhappy about the deplorable condition of the RCC building now, which she alleged was not fully completed before it was inaugurated by the previous administration.

However, Mr Boakye admitted that the RCC was forced to inaugurate the facility because it could not afford to pay for the cost of rent to accommodate the various offices, saying only some minor works, especially the fixing of some washrooms was left to be completed.

“We moved to the facility at that time only to cut costs and expenses and save the public. Rent at the time was draining our coffers and we must do something urgently and move into the new offices,” he stated.
