Delegation of Ho Teaching Hospital pays courtesy call on Volta Regional Minister

Ho, Feb. 13, GNA- A delegation from the Ho Teaching Hospital and the Yonsei University Industry Consortium, Korea, have paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu.  

The delegation led by Dr. John Tampuori, Chief Executive Officer of Ho Teaching Hospital, briefed the Minister on feasibility studies for a major expansion project at the hospital.  

They presented their final feasibility report, outlining plans to transform Ho Teaching Hospital into a world class medical hub.  

The delegation, which has been engaging Chiefs, Civil Society Groups, and the Volta Regional Parliamentary Caucus, urged the Minister to add his voice to the advocacy to ensure that the facility was established in the Volta Region.  

Professor So Yoon Kim from Korea expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting the strong partnership between Ghana and Korea and the continued commitment to supporting healthcare development.  

Mr Gunu said the project would not only enhance healthcare delivery but also provide critical support to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and other institutions in the region.  

The Minister welcomed the initiative, saying, the proposed 500 bed facility would bring state of the art medical infrastructure, including a specialised spinal surgery unit, making Ho Teaching Hospital a centre of excellence in medical care.  

He said healthcare was a top priority for the President John Dramani Mahama, and that he would engage with key stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.   

He commended the Ho Teaching Hospital team and the Korean partners for their dedication, and assured them of his full support in making the project a success.
