Black Starlets coach leads northern sector talent scout on February 18

Accra, Feb. 17, GNA – Mr Stephen Frimpong Manso, head coach of Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, will on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, begin the northern sector talent hunt.

The head coach and his assistants will be in Sunyani, Brong Ahafo, from February 18-20 before moving to the Northern Region and the Upper East and West regions, respectively, to conclude the scouting program in the Northern sector.

Young, talented players born after January 1, 2009, in the respective regions would be given opportunities to be assessed by the technical team for possible inclusion in the pool of players for the next Black Starlets squad.

During their visits, the coaches will work closely with the Regional Football Associations (RFAs), local clubs, colts teams, and school teams to ensure that promising players within the age bracket get the opportunity to be scouted.

Also, to ensure a comprehensive search, the GFA’s scouting teams in the regions have been tasked with submitting lists of talented players to the regional chairman, who would then forward them to the GFA.

After concluding the scouting mission to the Northern sector, Coach Frimpong Manso and his assistants would turn their attention to the Southern sector as part of the first phase of their team-building exercise.
