Accra, Feb. 11, GNA – The Business Class of Adisadel College 1995 Year Group has instituted a three-year award scheme in honour of their former Accounting tutor, Mr Robert Eghan, for his dedicated service.

The award which goes with a laptop as the prize, is dubbed: “Mr Robert Eghan Award for the Best Accounting Student” will be presented to the best Accounting student of the school at the speech and prize-giving day for the next three years.

The Group made this known during their meeting in preparation of their 30th anniversary commemoration activities ahead of the school’s speech and prize giving day scheduled to take place on March 08, 2025.

Mr John Ackah, Class Prefect of the Group, said their former tutor was punctual to work and was always available to teach and guide them in their studies.

“There were times he would show up in an umbrella when it was raining heavily to still come to class. He was dedicated to his job, ensuring he was always available to teach whether rain or shine,” he stressed.

Mr Ackah said their tutor’s engaging teaching style always made their accounting class and lessons enjoyable.

He said he operated an open-door system, where students could easily approach him whenever they had challenges with their studies.

Nana Kwabena Anokye, the Assistant Class Prefect, added that Mr. Eghan was very patient with students who came his way and treated members of business class like his own children.

“He granted everybody access to him whenever we needed his attention and help. He was not just a teacher but somebody who cared for our well-being,” he said.

Mr Robert Eghan expressed his appreciation to the class for the honour done him, saying, he felt very humbled and honoured by it.

“I was doing my job for the love of my country. I was doing this in service to God and country, contributing my quota to their development,” he said.

Mr Eghan advised current teachers to give off their best in their profession and work hard as if they were working for God.

He said they should not work only for material and monetary gains, but rather find fulfillment and contentment in the positive impact they made on their students.

Mr Robert Eghan taught at the Adisadel College from 1991-2015, until he was promoted by the Ghana Education Service to head Twifo Heman Senior High Technical School and Mankessim Senior High Technical School.
