Achinakrom (Ash), Feb. 21, GNA – The chiefs and people of Achinakrom in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region, can now enjoy improved sanitation following the inauguration of modern sanitation facilities.
The modern facilities are expected to end the long-standing challenge of open defecation and poor hygiene in the community.
Mr Sampson Kusi, Assembly member for Achinakrom electoral area, speaking to newsmen after the inauguration said the facilities would significantly enhance sanitation in the area.
“The absence of proper toilet facilities has been a major concern for our people. With this modernized structure, we expect a significant improvement in hygiene and overall public health in Achinakrom,” he stated.

Nana Osei Nkrumah, Gyaasehene, of Achinakrom urged residents to develop a culture of maintenance to ensure the longevity of the facility.
“A project like this is only beneficial if we take good care of it. I appeal to every resident to use it responsibly and keep it clean at all times,” he emphasized.
Mr John Boafo, the Unit Committee Chairman, highlighted the challenges the community faced due to the lack of a toilet facilities.
“For years, the absence of a proper toilet system forced many to resort to unhygienic means.
Today, we are witnessing a major transformation, and we must all commit to using this facility properly,” he stated.
The commissioning of the toilet facilities was expected to bring relief to residents, improve sanitation, and promote a cleaner environment in Achinakrom.
