Keta (VR), Feb 24, GNA – The Africa Aid Institute (AAI), a think tank focused on Africa development has congratulated Mr Gabriel Adovoe Kwamigah Tanko Atokple on his election as Council of State member to represent the Volta region.
According to AAI, Mr Atorkple’s elections was a testament to his strong leadership, dedication and commitment to development and progress in Volta and Ghana as a whole.
Mr Bright Martins Attigah, the Founder and President of AAI, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that the trust placed on Mr Tanko Atokple by distinguished members of electoral college reflected integrity, experience and the positive impact he exhibited over the years.
“At Africa Aid Institute we are committed to driving socio-economic progress in Ghana through research, policy advocacy, and initiative that promote good governance and sustainable development, we really welcome Mr Atokple’s victory,” he said.
He said that the AAI was a dedicated organisation which assessed the impact of international growth addition which believed that the role of Mr Atokple as Council of State member would contribute significantly to national development.
Mr Attigah expressed a strong hope that the victory would create more opportunities to champion policies that would enhance smooth and quality governance, socio-economic transformation, and national progress.
“Mr Tanko Atokple’s presence in this esteemed body signifies a fresh perspective and renewed hope for the Volta Region and Ghana as whole and l hope and believed for the progress of our beloved country.”
He said the AAI was confident that the tenure and the period would mark with innovative ideas and strategic council that would also contribute significantly to national development.
He said AAI expected a positive impact of Mr Atokple’s service and hope that a fruitful collaboration in the pursuit of sustainable development for progress of country would be achieved.
Mr Attigah further urged all to rally behind and support the Council of State member and provide the necessary advice and plans that would develop and give a new facelift to the region.
Some residents of the Keta municipality, the GNA interaction with also expressed excitement over the victory and urged Mr Atokple to help develop Volta with more and new initiatives to help create jobs for youth to alleviate their plight.
Mr Atokple won the election with 24 votes out of 36 casted to beating 12 other aspirants in the Volta regional Council of State members race and joined other 15 regional representatives with the task to provide necessary advice to the president.
Meanwhile, the 31 Council of State Members Chaired by former speaker of Parliament Mr Doe Adjahoe, was comprised with three Ex-Officio Members, a president of the house of chief, 16 regional representatives and eleven presidential appointees.
