Sunyani, Jan. 30, GNA – Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Paramount Chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono Region, has refuted claims of allowing Fulani nomads to graze their cattle in the area.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Reindorf Oware, the aide to Tabrako III and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said, “The paramount chief has not granted any individual, chief, odikro, or group the authority to accept any animal on his behalf too.”

“Any claim made by individuals or groups suggesting that they represent him are entirely baseless and made without his consent”, it stated, stressing the Paramount Chief’s unwavering commitment to promoting and strengthening peace in the area.

It said the paramount chief was unhappy about some “people misusing his authority for selfish gains”, warning that “he will take decisive action against anyone found wanting”, and also urged the media to endeavour to verify or cross check their facts.
