Results from 13 Polling Stations verified; EC suspends collation

Thirteen out of 20 expected Presiding Officers for the contested polling stations have come to authenticate their results. The Seven Presiding Officers are yet to show up.
The EC has consequently suspended the recollation.
The EC Officers are discussing the next line of action.
EC resumes collation exercise

The collation has resumed amid flared tempers.
“We have to bring this exercise to finality” – the EC insists.
Meanwhile. the EC, through the security officers, has driven out of the collation room all persons with the exception of party agents, EC officials, parliamentary candidates and journalists.
Collation suspended again over disagreement results sheets

The collation exercise has been briefly suspended again over the disagreement over the results sheets.
NDC Agents express disagreement with collation process

There’s raging disagreement between the NDC agents and the EC officers over the use of scanned copies of the results for the collation.
The NDC’s agents insist they will “not allow the collation to proceed” and “will not accept scanned copies” of the Statement of results to be used for the collation exercise.
Security officers prevent disruption of collation process

The timely intervention of security officers prevented a disruption of the collation process, after Agents of the NDC, who just arrived at the Collation Centre claimed they were not aware of the resumption of the collation.
They requested the EC to restart the exercise “to ensure fairness and transparency “.

The Electoral Commission (EC) is preparing to continue with the re-collation of results for the Ablekuma North Constituency, the final constituency yet to be declared.
The exercise was suspended on Sunday to pave way for the authentication of scanned copies of some 20 polling station results in contention.
The EC has summoned the presiding officers from the contested polling stations to assist with the authentication of the results.
Twelve out of the 20 expected presiding officers are present at the Greater Accra Region Collation Centre.
