The results for three polling stations are outstanding. The EC said it could not declare the results unless the remaining polling stations were verified and added to the tabulated results.
The Commission said it would communicate its next line of action in due course.

“I’ll fight till the end because I know I won” — Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, NPP parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North.
Accra, Jan 8, GNA – Agents of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ablekuma North Constituency have insisted on a re-run of the parliamentary election in the constituency, rejecting any other resolution.
Their demand follows continued expression of discontent over the validity of some of the Statements of Results (pink sheets) being used in the collation of results for the December 7 parliamentary elections.
Mr Vincent Obeng, the Returning Officer overruled the NDC’s objection, insisting that he would admit the results because they were valid.
Mr Vincent Obeng, the Returning Officer overruled the NDC’s objection and insisted that he would admit the results because it was valid.
The decision sparked a wild altercation at the collation centre.
The Greater Accra Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), Gladys Pinkrah, stated that the decision to call for a re-run of the parliamentary election rests with the Commission, not its officials.
Meanwhile, Mr. Evans Nimako, Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with the EC to ensure the re-collation exercise is concluded.
More soon.
