Sunyani, Jan. 3, GNA – The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) made significant achievements in research, publishing 1,400 research works in 2024, Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, the Vice Chancellor has said.
He said the prospects of the university remained higher in 2025, and urged the university community to love one another, calling for collective efforts to advance the course of the institution.
Reflecting on the university’s achievements for 2024, the Vice Chancellor told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Sunyani that the institution also saw significant infrastructure growth and development too.
The construction of the state-of-the-art Bank of Ghana University Auditorium was a huge success the university achieved in 2024, Prof. Asare-Bediako stated, hoping that some on-going projects including an administration block and hospital facilities would be completed in the year.
He said the student population of the university had also increased remarkably from 154 students since its establishment to 2011 to more than 14,000 student population now.
Prof Asare-Bediako commended the governing council, management, lecturers, faculty heads, staff, and non-teaching staff as well as the students all stakeholders for their respective support and contributions towards the progressive growth and development of the university.
He urged the university community to approach the new academic year with renewed motivation and a commitment and worked extra harder than the previous year to achieve the vision of the institution of becoming a world class university.
