Dambai (O/R), Jan. 24, GNA – The race for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position in the Krachi East has intensified, with 22 aspirants vying for the top spot.
The nominees, who filed their papers at the Krachi East National democratic Congress (NDC) Secretariat are eager to lead the Municipality and bring development to the area.
The large number of aspirants is a testament to the growing interest in local governance and the desire to serve the community, however, it also presents a challenge as the selection process is expected to be highly competitive.
The individuals include, Mr Safo Nketia, Mr Nixon Edem Gidisu, Mr Michael Ananey Aboagye, Mr James Edu Donkor, Mr Zulkiphil Al-hassan Osmanu, Mr Wilson Denteh, Mr Abdul Ganiyu Mustapha, Mr Solomon Kofi Tasson, Mr Williams Lanyo, Dr Anthony Nkrumah Agyabeng.
The rest are: Mr Emmanuel Kofi Ladzi, Mr Francis Boyesah Gesaloge, Mr Azizu Kunde, Mr Seth Kuma, Mr Abednego Taase Awuriki, Mr Samuel Wiafe, madam Benedicta Sekina Razak, Dr John Adukpo, Madam Esther Kumah Odartey, Mr Richard Sarfo Kantanja, Mr Gideon Kwadwo Gyingyi and Mr Joseph Asekre.
Mr Issac Kwaku Kaliwa, the Deputy secretary of the Krachi East NDC, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the vetting process will be rigorous and only the most qualified and dedicated candidates will be considered.
The 22 aspirants bring diverse backgrounds and experiences to the table, ranging from politics and governance to education and business.
Some notable candidates include Mr Safo Nketia, Mr Nixon Edem Gidisu and Dr Anthony Nkrumah Agyabeng.
As the vetting process unfolds, residents of Krachi East are eagerly awaiting the outcome, hoping that the next MCE will bring positive change and development to the Municipality.
