Koforidua, Jan. 4, GNA – The Reverend Dr Albert Anane, Eastern Region ‘A’ Superintendent, Assemblies of God, Ghana, has called on the church to intercede through prayers for the leaders of the nation to carry out their duties with excellence.

He said intercessory prayers invoked the strength and wisdom of the Lord upon the leaders to overcome the desires of the flesh, making them selfless to focus on the needs of the nation.

Rev. Dr Anane spoke in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua during the watch night service on December 31, on the theme: “Pray Without Ceasing for Supernatural Manifestation.”

He emphasised the importance of a God-fearing attitude and mindset as a critical element to building quality leadership for effective administration of the country.

The watch night service is an annual New Year’s Eve event for Christians across the globe to conclude the year with thanksgiving and seek God’s guidance and blessings for the ensuing year.
