Accra, Jan 6, GNA – The Parliamentary Press Corps has extended warm congratulations to Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin on his re-nomination as Speaker of the Ninth Parliament.
A statement signed by Mr Simon Agianab, the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps, and issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, praised Mr Bagbin for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the Eighth Parliament, describing his re-nomination as well-deserved.
“This well-deserved real-nomination comes as no surprise to us, considering your display of exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the eighth Parliament. Your dedication and commitment to the legislature have been remarkable,” it said.
The statement acknowledged Mr Bagbin’s role as a father figure to members of the Press Corps, expressing gratitude for his guidance and support.
The group pledged to continue working closely with the Speaker to strengthen Parliament’s role in national development and support his vision of excellence in governance.
Mr Bagbin’s re-nomination has been widely lauded as a recognition of his pivotal role in navigating the complexities of the eighth Parliament and fostering constructive dialogue among various political factions.
His leadership has been instrumental in advancing legislative initiatives and promoting accountability within the democratic framework.
