Accra, Jan.03, GNA – The National Council of the New Patriotic Party has selected leaders of the Party for the Ninth Parliament.
The Council retains Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the NPP MP for Effutu, who previously served as the Majority Leader in the eighth Parliament as the Minority Leader in the ninth Parliament while Madam Patricia Appiagyei, the NPP MP for Asokwa as the Deputy Minority Leader.
This is in pursuant to Article 14(2) of the Party’s Constitution.
This was in a statement issued by Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General-Secretary of the Party in Accra, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.
Other members of the Minority Leadership were Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the NPP MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, as Minority Chief Whip, Mr Habib Iddrisu, the NPP MP for Tolon as first.
Deputy Minority Whip, while Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib, NPP Member of Parliament-elect for Weija-Gbawe as second Minority Whip.
The eighth Parliament is set to be dissolved on January 06, 2025, to pave way for the inauguration of the ninth Parliament on January 07,2025.
