By Solomon Gumah

Tamale, Jan 1, GNA – President-elect John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina, last night joined worshippers at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale to usher in the new year.

They were accompanied by some leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Mr Haruna Iddrisu and Mr Alhassan Suhuyini, Members of Parliament for Tamale South and North, respectively.

Mr Mahama sang a song to praise God and thank Him for successful elections in December.

He presented an undisclosed amount of money to the Church in fulfilment of a pledge he made to God when he worshipped with the congregation on December 31, 2023.

The Rev Aaron Lambon Fant, the Head Pastor, urged the congregation to approach the new year with gratitude knowing that God’s grace was sufficient to see them through every obstacle.

“Every mountain is surmountable. Life is a journey that requires the walk of faith and patience to get to your destination,” he said.
