Accra, Jan 1, GNA – The Reverend Isaac Obed Asamoah, Head Pastor of the Gospel Faith Ministries of Ghana, has urged all Ghanaians to throw their weight behind President- elect, Mr John Dramani Mahama to turn the fortunes of the country around.
He said that since the elections were over, it was proper that everyone get on board to make the president succeed in his endeavour to improve on the fortunes of the nation.
“If the president succeeds, Ghana succeeds. If he fails, Ghana fails,” Rev Asamoah said.
In his New Year’s message to Ghanaians and to his congregation, Rev Asamoah said Ghanaians should also remember to pray for the outgoing President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as he prepares to exit, and wished him and his family well, saying he also did his part for the people of Ghana during his term.
Turning to President Mahama, Rev Asamoah said because he is a man of faith, he should understand God made it possible for him to become president again for a purpose, and so he should rule in wisdom and in the strength of God.
“Those who know their God will be strong and do exploit, he assured President Mahama.
Rev Asamoah urged the incoming president to also be a man of his word and “deal with one of the evils that has bedeviled this nation- corruption. I pray the president will use all the necessary state apparatus to deal with corruption. So that at the end of the day, if he can not eradicate it, he will be able to minimize it so that the resources will be channeled into proper use for the benefit of all Ghanaians.”
Rev Asamoah also encouraged all Christians to continue to put their faith in God by focusing on Christ Jesus and preaching the good news of salvation to all the people of the world.
He charged believers to leave behind any hindrances like bitterness, unforgivenss, and hatred, among others, that might hinder their blessings in stored in the year 2025.
He assured Christians that once they focus on Jesus and work hard, “their story will change” just as the blind man in the book of Mark chapter 10 verse 46 to 52, focused on Christ and called upon him to help him receive his sight, and that was granted by Jesus.
