Accra, Jan. 6, GNA – Bechem United defeated league leaders Heart of Lions 3-0 at Nana Gyeabour Park, snapping their four-match winning streak.
Bechem United won all three points against a difficult Hearts of Lions opponent, with Emmanuel Abban scoring twice and Dalvin Yeboah adding a goal.
Despite their loss, Heart of Lions maintain their lead at the top of the table with 30 points, while Bechem United moves to fourth with 29 points.
Asante Kotoko SC were held to a 1-1 draw by Medeama SC at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on January 5, 2025.
Kwame Poku scored for the second successive time after opening the scoring for the Porcupine Warriors against Medeama.
However, Kamaradini Mamudu equalised for the “Mauve and Yellow” after tapping in from Prince Owusu’s brilliant feed in the second half.
Kotoko are currently fifth with 28 points, while Medeama sits seventh with 25 points from 15 games and have one outstanding game.
Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a third consecutive win in the ongoing Ghana Premier League after defeating Legon Cities 1-0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday.
Ahmed Ramzy Yussif’s first-half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Phobians, who moved up to sixth place on the league log with 28 points, just two points behind leaders Heart of Lions.
It was a fifth consecutive loss for the Legon Cities side, who remain at the bottom of the league table with relegation stirring them deeply ahead of the second round.
Young Apostles FC recorded a vital 2-0 win over Karela United at home on Sunday.
A goal in each half from Samuel Prempeh and Emmanuel Fosu secured the important victory for the home side.
