Tamale, Jan 04, GNA – Executive Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, Chief Executive of Chef Faila’s Kitchen, has donated some essential items to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to mark the first anniversary of her Guinness World Record breaking attempt for the longest cooking marathon (Cookathon) by an individual.
The items included toiletries, rice, water, soap, washing powder, buckets, beverages, unspecified amount of cash amongst others.
Chef Failatu, who presented the items to the authorities of the hospital in Tamale, said the gesture was to show appreciation to the medical staff of the hospital for their support during her Cookathon.
She also acknowledged the support of the medical team at the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital during her Cookathon, saying, “Today, on the same historic day, I had the entire Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Kamina Barracks Military Hospital coming through for me with wonderful doctors and nurses standing on their feet and running shifts through the day and night for 10 days.”
Chef Failatu’s Cookathon started on January 01, 2024 and ended on January 10, 2024.
She also thanked individuals, organisations, and brands that supported her during the Cookathon.
She advised the youth to embrace hard work, determination, and humility saying, “I hope that my fellow youth out there will look at me and decide not to go wayward. We need to stay away from drugs and all manner of criminal activities.”
Hajia Rashida Muhammed, Administrator, TTH, who received the items, thanked Chef Failatu for her gesture saying, “TTH alone cannot achieve the excellence we aspire to achieve. We need support from everyone and the community to help us achieve what we want to achieve.”
