Accra, Jan. 15, GNA – The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has congratulated Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on her historic election as Vice President and as the first woman to be elected to that high office.
In a congratulatory letter to the Vice President, the Center recalled “with exceptional pride” that Prof Opoku-Agyemang served on the Governing Board of CDD-Ghana from its founding in 1998 until her appointment as Minister for Education in 2013.
The Center expressed the hope that as Vice President, Prof Opoku-Agyemang would continue to champion the issues and causes that were both central to the mission of CDD-Ghana and vital to Ghana’s national development, including transparent and accountable governance, integrity in public life, and inclusive social and economic development.
“The Center wished the Vice President-elect good health and success in her new role in the service of Mother Ghana.” The statement said.
