Speaking at the climax of the festival as part of the New Year festivities, Nana Minla Kpanyinli III, Chief of Bomoakpole, said the town lacked a community centre for its social activities, hence the need to raise funds to construct one.
“It is important that we initiate self-help projects without overly relying on the government, so this festival is to, among other things, trumpet the call for sons and daughters of Bomoakpole, both home and abroad, to contribute their window’s mite towards the construction of the centre,” he said.
Awards were presented to outstanding members of the community for their communal spirit to spearhead the development of the town.
The maiden festival brought together traditional rulers and dignitaries from nearby communities to offer support towards the community’s growth.
