The forum afforded the electorates to interact with Madam Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya Constituency and also the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who was the only candidate to show up.

The event was attended by civil society organisations, youth groups, NDC party members, assembly members, religious leaders, drivers, market women and farmers.

Moderators tackled topics including, Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Socio-Economic Development which are matters of concern to the Ghanaian voter.

Mr Brobbey stated that historically, Awutu-Senya West was classified as one of the election hot spots, adding, that that tag must change for the better.

Madam Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui accounting for her stewardship and also highlighting her vision, ideas and plans to aid development  said, she  was already working hard to make the area better.

She assured of her commitment to work further for more development, including establishment of Nursing Training College in the area, up-grading of the senior high schools to category “B”, schools, establishment of more skill training centers and others when given the nod.

She reiterated calls for conflict-free environment before, during, and after the elections and prayed that her opponent would also seek peace, in order for the people of Awutu-Senya West Constituency to coexist peacefully.

She stressed that peace was of essence and it must not be taken for granted, adding “if we want to be critical we must be very careful of certain things we do and pray for free, fair and transparent elections.”

Mr Cephas Kofi Agboadoa, Awutu-Senya District Director of the Commission in his address, informed the gathering that the dialogue was one of the programmes of the NCCE that created  platform for the candidates to interact with people at the constituency level to explain their vision for voters to make informed choices.

He said the dialogue was initiated based on the various concerns shared by the citizens across the country, dubbed “Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter,” for the Aspirants to make their intentions and policies known on the issues raised, to the people.

He stated that despite the outcome of the elections, the people of Awutu-Senya West must remain united, hence the need to tolerate each other’s views, desist from allowing politicians to use them to disturb the peace and tranquility of the area.

“let’s continue to enjoy our peaceful coexistence as one people to forge ahead to make Awutu-Senya West a better place for all,” he stated.

Some of the community members who spoke with GNA after the event, expressed  satisfaction with how Madam Tetteh-Agbotui responded to questions  hoped she would come out victorious.
