Accra, Dec.7, GNA – Voting began as planned at the Old Ashongman Presbyterian Primary School in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency with no major issues reported at polling stations.
At Ashongman Number One, 43 out of 718 registered voters had cast their ballots by 0823 hours.
Mr. Mawuli Yaw Amaglo, a polling officer, confirmed that the process was proceeding without complications, despite voting officially starting at 0710 hours.
He added that special provisions had been made for elderly and physically challenged voters, offering them preferential treatment and seating.
Party agents from the National Democratic Congress, the New Patriotic Party, New Force, and Movement for Change were present at the polling station, recording voter details.
At Old Ashongman Number 2A, Madam Princess Sackey, the Presiding Officer, noted that only 33 out of 482 voters had cast their ballots, with voters trickling in steadily.
She said that there were no queues at her station.
At Old Ashongman Number 2B, Rosaline Atahate, the Presiding Officer, reported that 50 people had voted by 0900 hours.
Security personnel were stationed at strategic locations across the polling centres to maintain order.
Vehicles or motorcycles were not allowed to park near the voting areas.
