Sekesua (E/R), Dec. 03, GNA – The Upper Manya Krobo District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has embarked on a video show for community members at Sekesua.

The rationale behind the video show in the community was to propagate the message of peaceful election and bring the people of Sekesua up to speed on how devastating election violence can be.

Mr. Eric K.Yanney, District Director in his remarks, said the NCCE chose the community because the entire district had been flagged as a hotspot for election related violence and showed a “Cry Free Town” video on election violence by citing Sierra Leone and ‘Heal The Nation” video, also on election violence in Kenya.

He admonished community members to eschew all forms of violence and live in unity and in harmony with each other.

He showed appreciation to the people of Sekesua for coming out in their numbers to see the video and pleaded with them to pay attention to the video so that they could take a cue from it to choose peace over violence and ballot over bullet on December 7.

Mr. Djornobuah John Tetteh, an Assembly Member for Dzamam-Trawa Electoral Areas who doubled as the Chairperson, for Sekesua Area Council, used the platform to admonish the gathering to take cue from the video and never to be misled by politicians to indulge in any act that would translate into violence.

He commended the NCCE for the gesture pleaded them to replicate such movies in all the thirty-three areas in the Upper Manya Kelectoralrobo Constituency.

Present at the program were Department at the Head office of the NCCE in the person of Mrs. Irene Minston-Amihere, Messrs Frederick Akuamoah and Benjamin Asante for coming to facilitate the movie show.
