Accra, Dec. 02, GNA – The 2024 edition of the Luckiest seasonal draw organised by GeniusLoci Limited and regulated by the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has come to an end with ticket number “12870” emerging the overall luckiest winner of the ultimate GHC One million cash prize.

The *712# seasonal draw that opened in July this year had more than 300,000 entries in its three categories of wins, namely, Community wins, Bonus tickets wins and the Luckiest ticket win.

The Community category had the Filling Stations, Trotro, Prisons and the Jewelers communities winning; whereas, the Bonus tickets category had three random tickets winning a 100 times their amount staked.

There were also some random winners on the night wining a chest freezer, microwave oven, and a 40-inch television set.

Mr Dennis Adutwum, Managing Director of the GeniusLoci Limited, explained that the Community category had 100 communities classified into artisanal, fisherfolks, police, journalists, kayayei, golfers, CEOs, among others, who participated in the draw by purchasing tickets from One Ghana cedis to GHC5,000.

He said the community was made up of a group of people with similar interests and trade, with each of them offered 1000 tickets to buy to enter the draw.

Mr Adutwum emphasized that the lottery was a seasonal one run once a year from July to December and ends at 1200 hours on the last Saturday to Christmas where winners were announced.

He, however, added that this year’s draw had to be pushed forward to November 30 due to the December 07 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Mr Adutwum said the lottery’s popularity had grown as a result of their increased community engagements and activations this year, adding that, they had more than 300,000 entries as against last year’s 100,000.

He expressed appreciation to the NLA through its Caritas Platform for the support and guidance it had provided them in running the lottery.

Mr Bernard Buamah, Head of Marketing and Caritas of the NLA, said the lottery had received approval from the NLA and was part of its Caritas Platform championing social and community development efforts.

He pledged the support of NLA to make the game a success and ensure its permanent continuation, once the organisers continue to operate in its platform.

“We thank you for partnering with NLA. And we pray that you will continue to impact society through some of these good causes.

“We will see you next year because it’s something that we are going to be doing over a long period of time. So thanks for coming in.
