Bolgatanga, Dec 2, GNA – Reverend Father Camillus Baba Ababagre, Parish Priest at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Bolgatanga, has charged Christians to live in dual preparation for the memorial birth, and unannounced second coming of Christ.
He said the first day of the beginning of the month of Celebration of the birth of the Saviour, starting on a Sunday, was symbolic and critical in the lives of Christians.
Reverend Ababagre was preaching the Sermon on the theme: “Be prepared for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”, and said it was a crucial moment in the life of every Christian.
He said “Christians are drawn to prepare for the coming of Christ, towards his birth and second coming. We must prepare in proclamation of his return”
The Parish Priest noted that colour in the Anglican Communion played vital role in faith and signified change of season, and therefore, moving from green to violet on the colour calender of the church was spectacular.
He said “Christ deserves a magnificent celebration. Our concentration should be on the preparation of our spiritual life. We should be alert, because his coming will take us by surprise”.
Reverend Ababagre indicated that “Even though we know he would come, we do not know when, and that is why we need to prepare in mind and spirit in waiting. It is time for us to take stock of our lives”.
He rhetorically questioned “Can we justify the lives we lead today as pleasing to our brother or sister. Otherwise, you need to act now and get prepared for Christ’s coming”.
The Priest bemoaned lukewarm in the service of Christ and indicated that there was urgency in the need to prepare well. “We need to be confident and bold to meet Christ when he surprises us from his second coming”
