SWAG congratulates Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, two others on electoral victories

Accra, Dec.10, GNA – The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has sent heartfelt congratulations to three of its stakeholders who won their parliamentary elections in the just ended 2024 Parliamentary elections.

Mr. Dickson Kyere Duah, Vice Chairman for SWAG Bono and Ahafo Regions, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, and President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation, Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib all won their respective parliamentary elections.

Mr. Dickson Kyere Duah, SWAG’s Regional Vice Chairman in the Bono and Ahafo area won his parliamentary seat on his third attempt as the MP-Elect for Berekum West whereas Mr. Mustapha Ussif, the current Minister of Youth and Sports, had been re-elected as Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency.

Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, President of Ghana Weightlifting Federation and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) also emerged victorious in the parliamentary elections as MP-elect for the Weija-Gbawe constituency.

A statement signed by the Association’s President Mr. Kwabena Yeboah said “SWAG is proud and sure these friends in parliament will make significant contributions to the sports ecosystem.

“We look forward to their continued success and leadership in the sports and youth development sectors.”

SWAG said it believed in the potentials of its members following their commitment in serving the Association and the country at large.
