Special Voting: Wenchi EC satisfied with voter turnouts, party agents’ comportment

Wenchi, (Bono), Dec. 3, GNA – The Electoral Commission (EC) in the Wenchi constituency says it recorded an impressive turnout in the special voting exercise which ended peacefully.

Mrs Christina Opoku, the Wenchi Municipal Officer of the EC said the exercise recorded 92 per cent turnout, saying 775 out of the total 842 special voters cast their ballot.

In a media briefing at Wenchi after the end of polls, Mrs Opoku the voters who exercise their franchise comprised 461 males and 314 females and expressed satisfaction about the general comportment during the special voting exercise in the constituency.

She also commended the agents of the various political parties, security personnel and stakeholders for the level of maturity and civility they exhibited that made the exercise successful and incident-free.

Mrs Opoku said she was hopeful that the political parties and the electorates would also behave and comport themselves well for a peaceful and successful General Election on December 7.
