Anloga (V/R), Dec 8, GNA – Mr. Richard Kwame Sefe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Anlo Constituency, has retained his seat with an overwhelming 89 per cent of the total votes cast.
The Electoral Commission’s Returning Officer for the Anlo Constituency, Mr. Felix Hommey, declared the results on Sunday morning at the Collation Centre.
Mr. Sefe polled 36,419 votes, while his closest contender, Mr. Seth Yormewu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), managed 4,131 votes, representing 10 per cent of the total votes.
Mr. Sefe, who is currently serving his first term in Parliament following his election expressed gratitude to his constituents.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, he described the victory as a clear indication of the people’s appreciation for his service.
He assured voters of his continued focus on skills training and job creation initiatives to improve livelihoods within the district.
Some party jubilants present said they were happy for his win, citing his commitment to skill training as one major reason for the win.
A total of 40,898 voters participated in the election, casting their ballots across 144 polling stations within the constituency.
